The biggest culinary event dedicated to seafood and river catch in Portugal features the presence of renowned Portuguese restaurants and chefs, as well as international guests from Spain, France and Brazil.
The 8th edition of the event includes live cooking sessions, with the creation of innovative gastronomic specialties inspired by the theme of the seafood cuisine. A total of ten participating Lisboa restaurants open continuously from 12pm to 12am.
The wide range of seafood and river catch is complemented by a gourmet market, consisting of exhibitors from various brands, including beverages, confectionery, traditional products and delicatessen. Portugal culinary talent is once again recognised in the 3rd edition of the symposium with “Sangue na Guelra” (Young Bloods), a gastronomic event which seeks to show the creative potential of young chefs who work with the big names in Portuguese and international cuisine.
Another highlight is the “The Best Pastel de Nata” contest, a regular program event, as well as the “Young Talents In Cuisine” event. Over eleven days, visitors are invited to participate in cooking classes promoted by famous chefs.
The “Kids in the Kitchen” session, created for the younger ones, invites children from six to ten years old to learn about cooking in a fun and educational way.
The program also includes the presentation of the project “The most popular seafood species in Portugal” and “Project Mr. Good Fish”, both in collaboration with “Ciencia Viva”; the “New Homemade Cake Project” and “Homemade Project: Design of Portuguese semi-industrial confectionery.”
The challenge of combining food and wine is another popular event, with the organisation of harmonisation sessions and tastings with experts.
